The problem is that many people still think that the only parameter to measure the quality of the camera's resolution (the number of Megapixels), which is not the best way to compare the camera. A camera with a higher resolution can actually have a lower quality than the camera with a lower resolution! This is because the two important factors that are often neglected by most users: the quality of the camera lens and the quality of the camera sensor.
The problem is that adding a camera lens with a better and better sensor will increase the cost of the computer.
But, honestly, if you use a lot of videoconferencing programs such as Skype, you will not pay the least to have a laptop with a better camera?
Have also note that using a laptop with a better camera will not improve the quality of the image you see on the screen, just a picture of your face your friends see! So you'll probably spend more time to convince their friends and family to upgrade the camera so you can see them better!
Problems with built-in camera is that they can not be used for purposes other than video conferencing, because usually the image quality is not good enough to be used for taking pictures of them or have the frame rate is too low for a decent movie. Perhaps this will change if the quality has been added to the camera?
Also good to remember that the optimal built-in camera should have the choice to be tilted at least better to capture your face when you use video conferencing. Maybe some manufacturers will provide a camera that can actually be deleted from the laptop to catch a better image? Or even a camera that can be removed for use as a camera stand on its own?
