Some 800 elementary school students commemorate World Cancer Day 2009 with a healthy do exercises together. This activity is part of the socialization of the prevention of cancer since early age.
World Cancer Day (HKS) was held in the building Coordinating the National Family Planning (BKKBN), Jakarta, Sabtu (7/2/2009). This event is a collaboration between the BKKBN Indonesia Cancer Foundation (YKI).
"Cancer must be by others since early. If children have figured a normal healthy life and continue beraktivitas, it will reduce the risk of cancer," said dr Sumarjati Arjoso, head of education and counseling as well as the head of the committee YKI warning HKS 2009.
According Sumarjati, it is estimated that cancer will become the number 1 killer in the world in the upcoming year 2030. Therefore, prevention of dissemination of cancer since early must be done.
"Children should know the dangers of living patterns that are not healthy. For example, children who are smoking since the age of 10 years, can be affected by cancer at the age of 40 years," said Sumarjati.
In the same place the Chairman of BKKBN, sugiri Syarif, the dissemination of cancer prevention is very important. Related to this, at this time BKKBN menggencarkan socialization about the disease of cancer, especially cancer cervic.

Peringati Hari Kanker Sedunia, 800 Anak SD Senam Sehat
Jakarta - Sebanyak 800 siswa SD memperingati Hari Kanker Sedunia 2009 dengan melakukan senam sehat bersama.
Kegiatan ini bagian dari sosialisasi pencegahan kanker sejak usia dini.
Peringatan Hari Kanker Sedunia (HKS) itu digelar di gedung Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Berencana Nasional (BKKBN), Jakarta, Sabtu (7/2/2009). Acara ini merupakan kerjasama antara BKKBN dengan Yayasan Kanker Indonesia (YKI).
"Kanker harus ditanggulangi sejak dini. Kalau dari anak-anak sudah biasa berpola hidup sehat dan terus beraktivitas, maka akan mengurangi risiko kanker," ungkap dr Sumarjati Arjoso, kepala bidang pendidikan dan penyuluhan YKI sekaligus ketua panitia peringatan HKS 2009.
Menurut Sumarjati, diperkirakan kanker akan menjadi pembunuh nomor 1 di dunia pada tahun 2030 mendatang. Karena itu sosialisasi pencegahan kanker sejak dini harus dilakukan.
"Anak-anak harus tahu bahaya-bahaya pola hidup yang tidak sehat. Misalnya anak-anak yang merokok sejak usia 10 tahun, bisa terkena kanker pada usia 40 tahun," ungkap Sumarjati.
Di tempat yang sama Ketua BKKBN, Sugiri Syarif, mengatakan sosialisasi pencegahan kanker memang sangat penting. Terkait hal itu, BKKBN saat ini menggencarkan sosialisasi mengenai penyakit kanker, khususnya kanker cervic (vagina).
"Salah satu langkahnya adalah memberikan kontrasepsi gratis bagi masyarakat yang tidak mampu," ujar Sugiri.
Selain acara senam oleh siswa SD, peringatan HKS 2009 diisi bazar murah oleh kaum ibu Dharmawanita BKKBN. Mereka menjual aneka barang dan kebutuhan sehari-hari. Pantauan detikcom, tidak ada satupun pejabat tinggi negara setingkat menteri yang menghadiri acara ini. (djo/djo)
